The High Court on Wednesday granted bail to 23 followers of Maulana Saad Kandlavi in a case over the violent clashes between two factions of Tabligh Jamaat on the Biswa Ijtema ground in Tongi that left three devotees dead.

A dual bench of the court passed this order until police submitted the report of this case.
Earlier on December 23, the accused pleaded for ad interim bail.

Maulana Zubair's follower M Alam Hossain filed the murder case with Tongi Police Station at night on December 19 against 29 people naming Syed Wasiful Islam as the main accused.

On December 18, four devotees were killed and several injured during a clash between two groups of Tabligh Jamaat on the Ijtema ground.
