24 people arrested by BGB at Jhenidah border

BGB has detained 24 people while illegally crossing the border in Jhenidah's Maheshpur. All the detainees are Bangladeshis.

They were arrested on Wednesday (January 8) night from the border area of Maheshpur upazila.
A press release issued by the BGB said that in the last 24 hours, several patrol teams of 58 BGB conducted raids in Baghadanga, Palianpur, Jibannagar and Khosalpur border areas under Maheshpur upazila overnight based on intelligence inputs.

During the raid, 24 Bangladeshi nationals were arrested while they were trying to illegally cross the Maheshpur border from Bangladesh to India. Among those arrested are six women, 13 men and five children. The process of taking legal action against them is underway.
