COX'S BAZAR, Jan 8: The body of a minor boy was recovered from near his residence after eight hours of his abduction.
His body was recovered from DC Hill area in the district town at around 1 am on Wednesday.
Deceased Ahad, 7, was the son of Anwarul Haque of the area.
The deceased's father said that Ahad went out of the house on Tuesday afternoon to play with friends. At that time, two unidentified persons abducted Ahad.
Later on, locals spotted the body of Ahad lying in an empty plot beside his residence at around 1 am on Wednesday and informed the matter to police.
Being informed, police recovered the body and handed it over to the deceased's family after an autopsy at Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue.
The body bore several injury marks on its throat, face and hands.
Officer-in-Charge of Cox's Bazar Sadar Model Police Station Ilias Khan confirmed the incident, adding that legal action would be taken in this regard.
