Police have recovered the body of a 70-year-old caretaker, tied up his hands and legs, from a doctor's house at Alekhaar Kanda village under Bhanga upazila in Faridpur.
The deceased was Wahab Matubbar, a resident of Tujarpur village, had been serving as the caretaker of doctor Jamal Uddin Khalifa's the house for many years, said police on Wednesday night after recovering the body.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (Bhanga Circle) Md Asif Iqbal said that the house belonged to the late Dr Jalal Uddin, whose wife and three daughters live in Dhaka but occasionally visit the property.
"Wahab Matubbar was entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining the house. On Wednesday around 10pm, local people of the area informed us about his body lying near the second-floor rooftop door," Asif Iqbal added.
Getting information, police and a team from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) went to the scene and recovered the body, tied up with railing of the stairs.
He might have been hacked and beaten to death.
The body was sent to Faridpur Hospital morgue, the police official added.
