US-based Excelerate Energy will suspend LNG regasification for repair and maintenance work for a total of 72 hours from Friday noon, which is likely to affect the country's gas supply, Petrobangla said in a statement on Thursday.
"Low gas pressure will prevail in some areas of the country due to a reduction in gas supply from Friday, 12 January 2025, at 12.00 noon to Monday, 13 January 2025, at 12.00 noon, as RLNG supply will be suspended for a total of 72 hours from the LNG FSRU operated by Excelerate Energy at Moheshkhali for repair and maintenance work," the statement said.
The authorities sincerely regret this temporary inconvenience to the public, it added.
During this period, another FSRU will continue to supply around 550-560 million cubic feet of gas per day, it said.
