Lifting eGovernment to globalise Bangladesh's public administration

After the birth of Bangladesh, people of this country have explored many outstanding things by which Bangladesh has already taken its position across the world. People from various geographic locations around the world now believe that Bangladesh is the centre of excellence. That's why they come here in order to add values to Bangladeshi potential.
It may be noted that Bangladesh is now passing its remarkable era with a plenty of possibilities where citizens have different scopes to surge the country's development. Undoubtedly, this country is going on to its prospective goal with great pride.
Nonetheless, sustainable development is often hindered due to its administrative inefficiency. As we are Bangladeshi, we have got to think outside the box. For that reason, the present government has taken a series of innovative steps to strengthen the successful stories. 'Digital Bangladesh' is one of the notable initiatives. We have already seen how things are getting changed positively under this effort. We are now becoming optimistic about this country's candid future.
In fact, administrative inefficiency needs to be eliminated for the sake of fulfilling this country's goal. Good governance is viable in order to bring administrative efficiency and effectiveness. In this regard, Bangladesh should go forward massively in the era of globalisation with this tool. It is all about eGovernment which has four major components such as G2C (Government-to-Citizen), G2B (Government-to-Business), G2G (Government-to-Government) and G2E (Government-to-Employee).The purpose of eGovernment is to bring in transparency, help increase investor confidence, reduce scope for corruption, bring more efficient governance, bring more efficient services to citizens, help boost the private sector, allow for decentralisation of governance, allow greater scope for integration, allow learning from the past, stimulate the local ICT industry, make ICT relevant to the masses. It has already been adopted in this country but unfortunately, the aftermath is well below the satisfactory level.
There is no denying that eGovernment indicates momentous potential for forwarding many of the actual flaws in governance in Bangladesh. The significance of presenting and operating eGovernment through the adoption of up-to-date information and communication technology (ICT) also deserves the fixated concentration of the government of Bangladesh. The flourishing and augmenting application of ICT through the operation of informatics can help boost governance in numerous approaches. It can serve as a mechanism to upgrade capacity and advance the quality of government services.
Moreover, it can help to standardise management schemes that curtail the extension for rent exploring opportunities. Furthermore, it can bolster information flow among government organisations and within the private sector and civil society. As we all know; information has super influence over the world. Concealment and ambiguity cut off the method of sharing information. Many of the frustrations that citizens confront in their interface with the government in Bangladesh could be evacuated through the increased practice of eGovernment. This will also pave the way for better openness, transparency, and accountability in government accomplishment. Influx of eGovernment in a phased way, with clearly characterised goals, responsibilities of public officials, and performance evaluation systems can set the basics right for alleviating corruption and assuring productive use of public resources, thus mitigating poverty.
In practice, eGovernment actions appeared to be in an intermediate stage. Shortage of sombre will and straightforward initiative and expedition were taken into account as momentous obstacles. Suitable planning is also inadequate, as well as there is a problem of implementation.
Nevertheless, the fruitful activity can be visible in the Bangladesh Bank, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Parliament Secretariat, the Hajj Management website of the Religious Affairs Ministry, the electronic Birth and Death Registration Project of the Rajshahi City Corporation, the Roads and Highways Department of the Communications Ministry and the Ministry of Science and Technology.
If we think about European countries, we will see that the practice of eGovernment is increasing day by day. As a result, citizens of Europe have direct access to government services. I notice in Italy that there is no gap between central government and general mass in terms of attaining quality services.
Like any other flourishing country, Bangladesh has a scarcity of resources together with complications of injustice and incompetence. The initiation of eGovernment is a required step for promoting the fundamental rights, which will consecutively create viable environment for national advancement and affluence through increased economic expansion.
In this regard, eGovernment can simplify the accelerated flow of information with regard to the availability and adoption of current resources as well as government services. The government needs to trigger, on a preference basis, a method of making known eEducation to the people involved in the country's governance mechanisms.r
