The lowest temperature of this winter season in the country was recorded in Panchagarh at 9 am on Friday (January 10). A moderate cold wave has started in the district.
The entire district was covered in a thick blanket of fog till 8 am along with the cold. When the sun shone brightly at 8 am, relief returned to public life.
However, from every afternoon until the next morning, a bone-chilling cold is felt with light fog and the northern chilly wind. This caused extreme suffering to the hard-working people who joined work in the morning.
Tetulia Weather Office's Officer-in-Charge Jitendra Nath Roy said that at 9 AM on Friday, the lowest temperature of the current winter season, 7.3 degrees Celsius, was recorded. The humidity of the air is 89%. A mild cold wave has been ongoing for the past three days. The intensity of the cold may increase further this week.
Earlier, on Thursday, the lowest temperature was 9.5 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature during the day was 21.2 degrees Celsius.
