A Juba Dal leader died while he was chanting slogans in an activists' rally at Hatia upazila in Noakhali district on Thursday evening.
The incident happened at around 7:00PM during an activists' rally of the party at Charchnga Bazar under Sonadiya union in the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Md Omar Faruque, 35, son of Shafiullah, a resident of Ward No 8 in the union and, the secretary of the Juba Dal's Ward.
Mozammal Hossain, the convener of the upazila Jaba Dal unit, said, " On Thursday afternoon, a worker rally was arranged by the party at the Bazar. Faruque joined the rally with his followers. suddenly, he fell down while chanting in the rally. Later, he was taken to the Hatia Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctors declared him dead."
AKM Azman Huda, officer-in-charge of Hatia Police Station, said that he died from cardiac arrest. The body will be buried without an autopsy.
