BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has termed the imposition of VAT and Supplementary Duty (SD) on more than 100 goods and services as "suicidal".
"It will put serious pressure on the limited-income group of people," he said while addressing a press conference at the party's central office at Nayapaltan in the capital on Saturday (January 11) morning.
Rizvi said it is the interim government's wrong policy to raise Tk 15 as VAT in place of Tk 5. "Common people will lose faith in Professor Yunus led government," he said.
