A man was allegedly beaten to death by his rivals following a clash between two groups over playing badminton at Daulatput upazila in Manikganj district on Friday night.
The incident happened in the Mandarta area in the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Yusuf Bepary, 57, a resident of the area.
Locals said that Siraj Bepary got into an altercation with Didar and Liton during playing Badminton. Following this, about 10-12 people, including Liton, Didar, and Lmes, forcefully dragged Yusuf Bepary, the father of Siraj, out from his house forcefully and hacked him indiscriminately.
He was rescued and taken to Ghuor Hospital, from where he was transferred to Manikganj Medical College Hospital for better treatment. He died there while undergoing treatment.
Family members sought the justice for this murder.
Toufiq Azam, officer-in-charge of Daulatpur Police Station, confirmed the matter.
