Police detained four people along with 300 bags of TSP fertilizers and a truck from Sitakunda upazila in Chittaging district early Saturday.
They were arrested at around 2:00AM from Baradarogarhat area in the upazila.
The arrested men are Md. Khalil, 32, Md. Rabiul, 30, Md. Saju, 34 and Md. Rakibul, 32.
Md. Mujibur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sitakunda Police Station said they were arrested from the area on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway.
Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a raid in the area and seized a truck and arrested the people. During interrogation, the arrested persons said they were taking the fertilizers to Nilphamari.
However, they claimed that the fertilizers were theirs, but after waiting for a long time, they could not show any valid documents in this regard.
A case was filed against them in this incident.
