Cold-hit people get winter clothes in 6 dists

Winter clothes were distributed among the cold-hit destitute people in six districts - Pirojpur, Nilphamari, Noakhali, Brahmanbaria, Laxmipur and Naogaon.

PIROJPUR:  Blankets were distributed among 1,000 cold-hit helpless people in the district town on Saturday.

District BNP organized the programme on Gopal Krishna Town Club premises in the town at noon.

Member Secretary of District BNP Gazi Wahiduzzman Lavlu distributed these blankets among the destitute people of surrounding areas. 

Former president of Jatiotabadi Chatradal Hsanul Kabir, BNP leader Kamruzzman Shuvra, District Jubadal General Secretary (GS) Emdadul Haq Masud, and District Chatradal GS Salaudin Talukder Kumar, among others, were also present at the distribution programme.

JALDHAKA, NILPHAMARI: Cold-hit helpless people in Jaldhaka Upazila of the district were given winter clothes at different programmes on Friday and Saturday.

Rights and Sight for Children (RSC) and Distressed Children & Infants International (DMI) jointly distributed blankets among more than 200 poor people in the upazila on Saturday noon in association of IFIC Bank. 

The distribution programme was held on Gabrole Siddikia Government Primary School ground in Koimari Union of the upazila.

Jaldhaka Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Jayeed Imrul Mozakkin was present as the chief guest while RSC Area President Aminur Rahman presided over the programme.

Nilphamari Branch Manager of IFIC Bank Shahjadi Khatun, its Customer Service Manager Hitler Alam, the bank's Jaldhaka Branch In-Charge Selim Hossain, RSC Area Manager Abdul Wahed, Jaldhaka Press Club GS Shahjahan Kabir Lelin, its Member Md Hasanuzzaman Siddiquee Hasan, Koimari Union Parishad (UP) Acting Chairman Peyari Begum, Head Teacher of Gabrole Siddikia Primary School Rawshan Ara Akhter, and UP Member Pramath Roy, among others, were also present during the distribution.

Meanwhile, Nilphamari District administration and District Social Services Office jointly organized a distribution programme at Madhya Kazirhat under Jaldhaka Municipality on Friday afternoon.

Nilphamari Deputy Commissioner (DC) Nayimuzzaman, as the chief guest, handed over the winter clothes to the cold-hit helpless students of Nure Jannat Umme Amina Girls Hafezia Madrasa and Orphanage in the area.   

District Social Services Officer Abu Bakkar, Jaldhaka UNO Jayeed Imrul Mozakkin, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jaldhaka Police Station (PS) Sazzad Hossain, Jaldhaka Press Club President Qamruzzaman, and Director of Nure Jannat Umme Amina Girls Hafezia Madrasa and Orphanage Dr Anwar Hossain, among others, were also present at that time.

Earlier, Jaldhaka Press Club distributed blankets among 200 cold-hit people in its hallroom in the upazila on Friday noon. 

Jaldhaka UNO Jayeed Imrul Mozakkin was present as the chief guest while President of the Press Club Qamruzzaman presided over the function.

Jaldhaka PS OC Sazzad Hossain, Press Club GS Shahjahan Kabir Lenin, its Vice-President Moniruzzaman Lebu, Joint GS Abed Ali, and Members Asaduzzaman Stalin, Martuza Islam and Hasanuzzaman Siddiquee, among others, were also present during the distribution.  

NOAKHALI: Bank Asia distributed 5,000 blankets among the cold-hit poor people in Chatkhil Upazila of the district on Saturday.

Director of Bank Asia Rumi A Hossain, as the chief guest, gave these blankets to the recipients. 

Maijdee Court Branch Manager of Bank Asia Md Mizanur Rahman Bulbul, Chatkhil Branch Manager Binoy Bhusan, Member Secretary of Chatkhil Upazila BNP Shahjahan Rana, and former chairman of Khilpara UP Kiran, among others, were also present during the distribution.

BIJOYNAGAR, BRAHMANBARIA: Blankets were distributed among the cold-hit helpless people in Bijoynagar Upazila of the district on Saturday. 

Bijoynagar Press Club organized the distribution programme at its office in the upazila town in the morning.

President of the Press Club Jahirul Islam, its GS Abdullah Al Hridoy, Vice-President Shafiqur Rahman Shahin, Organizing Secretary Mosharraf Hossain, former vice-president of District Chatradal Advocate Milon Mridha, Finance Secretary Shahjahan Sarker, Sadiqul Islam, and businessman Selim Reza, among others, were also present at that time. 

LAXMIPUR: A total of 500 blankets were distributed among the cold-hit poor people in the district on Friday.

Laxmipur DC Rajib Kumar Sarker distributed the blankets in a function arranged by Laxmipur Municipality on the Government Adarsha Samad High School premises in the district town. 

Deputy Director of District Local Government Division and Laxmipur Municipality Administrator M Jahim Uddin, Chief Executive of the municipality Khan Mohammad Farabi and its official M Kamrul Islam, among others, were also present at the programme.

In the district, winter clothes were also distributed among poor in different madrashas, orphanage, and bus terminals in Sadar, Raipur, Ramganj and Ramgati upazilas of the district.

DHAMOIRHAT, NAOGAON: United Commercial Bank (UCB) provided blankets to about 300 cold-hit people in Dhamoirhat Upazila of the district. 

The distribution programme was organized at the bank's sub-branch adjacent to Dhamoirhat Municipality Office in the upazila town on Thursday. 

Joypurhat Branch Manager of UCB Bank Md Faruq Alam, its Dhamoirhat Sub-Branch Manager Md Shamsul Islam, and Assistant Cash In-Charge Golam Saklain, among others, were present during the distribution.
