Woman held with foreign pistol

LAXMIPUR, Jan 11: Detective Branch (DB) of Police arrested a woman along with a foreign pistol from a house in Sadar Upazila of the district on Thursday evening.

The arrested woman is Sazu Aktar, 18, wife of drug peddler Juwel, a resident of Hamchadi Village under Hamchadi Union in the upazila. 

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of District DB Police Shahadat Hossain said that acting on a tip-off, a team of the force conducted a drive in Juwel's house at Hamchadi in the evening. 
During the drive, the team arrested Juwel's wife along with a foreign pistol. Juwel was not in the house at that time.

However, legal action would be taken in this regard, the DB Police OC added.
