A bus driver was killed and 15 other passengers were injured in a head-on collision between two buses at Kalukhali upazila in Rajbari district on Saturday night.
The accident took place at around 11:30PM on the Rajbari-Kushtia regional highway in Gariana area in the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Bacchu Sheikh, 40, driver of a bus of Golden Line Paribahan.
Haurn-ur-Rashid, officer-in-charge of Pangsha Police Station, said,"said, " A Rangpur-bound Golden Line Paribahan bus coming from Barishal collided head-on with a Hanif Paribahan bus coming from Kushtia in the area, leaving both bus drivers critically injured and 15 other passengers also injured."
"Locals rescued the injured and took them to Kalukhali Upazila health Complex. Afterward, they were transferred to Rajbari Sadar Hospital, where Bacchu Sheikh succumbed to his injuries."
Police have seized the vehicles involved in the incident, the OC added.
