3 tones of Jatka seized in Naraynaganj

The Bangladesh Coast Guard has seized approximately three tones of Jatka during a raid at Siddhirganj upazila in Naraynaganj district early Sunday.

A team of the coast guard conducted a raid in the Kanchpur bridge area in the upazila from 1:00AM to 6:00AM and seized two trucks Jatka, whcih were caught illegally.

Lieutenant Colonel Md Syam-ul-Haque, media officer of the Bangladesh Coad Guard, said, "The owners of the seized Jatka could not be detained as they were not with the trucks. The seized trucks were released with other fish after keeping the Jatka. The seized Jatka was later distributed among orphanages and poor people."
