Former lawmaker of Satkania-Lohagara constituency Dr Abu Reza Muhammad Nadvi has been shown arrested in five additional cases filed with different police stations in Chattogram.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Mominun Nisa Khanam passed the order on Sunday allowing separate pleas of the Lohagara and Satkhania Thana Police on Sunday.
Besides, the court also instructed the jail authorities to ensure necessary medical treatment and prison facilities following a petition filed by Nadvi’s lawyer.
Chattogram District Court Inspector Habibur Rahman said police applied for a seven-day remand for Dr Nadvi in connection with three cases filed with Lohagara Police Station and two cases with Satkania Police Station.
However, the court rejected the remand plea and directed to show him arrest and sent to prison in these cases.
Earlier, on December 15, detectives arrested Nadvi from the Uttara in Dhaka.
Meanwhile, police had earlier shown him arrested in a murder case involving the killing of Khalid Hasan Saifullah, a student of Dhaka Ideal College, filed with Lalbagh Police Station in Dhaka.
