The Public Administration Reforms Commission led by former Secretary Abdul Muyeed Chowdhury has got further 16 days from January 15 to submit its report and recommendations to the government.
With the extension, the commission would now submit its report on January 31, according to a letter sent to Syeda Rezwana Hasan, the adviser of the Forest, Environment and Climate Change Ministry.
Commission Chairman Abdul Muyeed Chowdhury has sent the letter to the adviser and the Cabinet Division on Sunday.
Earlier, the government extended its tenure once till January 15.
According to the letter, tenure of the commission was extended with the approval of the Chief Adviser.
It stated that the commission was formed on October 9 last year after the July-August Uprising aiming at establishing a pro-people, accountable, efficient and neutral administration. The commission was given three months to submit its report.
It also stated that the commission has already started taking the opinion and suggestions of the mass people. It has already taken opinion from the people and stakeholders of four divisions - Dhaka, Chattogram, Khulna and Rajshahi, six districts and four upazilas holding more than 20 meetings.
The time was extended to prepare an acceptable final report examining the recommendations properly.
The procedures are on now of examining and analyzing the opinions of more than one lakh people given through online.
