The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday filed a case against fallen prime minister Sheikh Hasina, her daughter Saima Wazed Putul and 14 others, after finding evidence of misusing power to obtain a 60-katha plot in Purbachal.
Putul was named as the first accused while Hasina was listed as the second accused in the case, said ACC Director General Akhtar Hossain.
He said that the ACC achieved progress in this regard.
The investigation team has taken steps about the matter, he said, adding, "We received sufficient information. The information and data we have received clearly show evidence of abuse of power."
He said, "We will soon be able to share some good information with you, especially regarding the allocation of 60 kathas of RAJUK's Purbachal project".
According to the allegations, the ACC has found evidence in its initial investigation that Putul got the plot by abusing her mother's power. The ACC has filed the case with Putul as the number one accused and Hasina as the second accused.
The complaint states that Sheikh Hasina, in collusion with senior officials of RAJUK and using her special powers as allotted six 10-katha plots in the diplomatic zone of Sector 27 in the Purbachal New Town project on Road No. 2003.
Earlier, on December 27, the ACC announced that it would decide to investigate allegations of irregularities in the allocation of plots in Purbachal against Sheikh Hasina and six members of her family.
Before that the ACC decided on December 22 to investigate allegations of laundering $300 million (Tk 30,000 crore) abroad against Sheikh Hasina and her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy.
Earlier, ACC had formed a five-member team to investigate allegations of corruption worth Tk 80,000 crore against the family mebers of Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Rehana in various projects.
The ACC directed the team to investigate the allegation of laundering $300 million.
