The government has cancelled the appointment of six members of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC).
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a gazette notification to this end on Monday.
The members are – Prof Dr Shahnaz Sarker, Md Munir Hossain, Brigadier General (Retd) Dr AF Jaglul Ahmed, Dr Md Mizanur Rahman, Sabbir Ahmad Chowdhury and Professor Dr Syeda Shahina Sobhan.
According to the notification, their appointments were cancelled after formal approval of the President.
On January 2, the government has appointed the six members and they were scheduled to take oath on January 9.
However, the Supreme Court, in an order, postponed the oath on January 8 following a petition of the PSC.
