In a high-scoring encounter at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, the Chittagong Kings secured a 30-run victory over the Sylhet Strikers in the 19th match of the Bangladesh Premier League on Monday to reach at 2nd in the points table.

After winning the toss, Sylhet Strikers' captain Ariful Haque elected to field first but the Kings capitalized on this decision posting a formidable total of 203 for six in their allotted 20 overs. Opener Usman Khan set the tone with a brisk 53 off 35 balls including eight boundaries and a six.

His departure brought Graham Clark to the crease, who accelerated the innings with a scintillating 60 from 33 deliveries featuring three fours and five sixes.

Besides, Captain Mohammad Mithun contributed a quickfire 28 off 19 balls, while Haider Ali's unbeaten 42 off just 18 deliveries propelled the Kings past the 200-run mark.

For the Strikers, pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib was the pick of the bowlers claiming two wickets for 38 runs in his four-over spell, while Nahidul Islam, Ruyel Miah and Ariful Haque got one wicket each.

Chasing a daunting target of 204, the Sylhet Strikers faced early setbacks with the dismissal of opener Paul Stirling for a duck in the very first over.

Despite a resilient 52 off 37 balls from George Munsey and a late surge by Jaker Ali, who remained unbeaten on 47 from 23 balls, the Strikers managed to reach only 173 for eight in their 20 overs.

Mohammad Wasim was instrumental with the ball for the Kings taking three wickets for 29 runs, while Al Islam and Shoriful Islam chipped in with a wicket each.

Graham Clark's all-round performance earned him the Player of the Match accolade.

This victory marks the Chittagong Kings' third consecutive win in the tournament, solidifying their position in the standings, while the Sylhet Strikers will need to regroup ahead of their next fixture.
