A former Chhatra Dal leader died at Noakhali General Hospital on Monday evening, hours after he was arrested by joint force.
Deceased Abdur Rahman, 33, was assistant general manager of Sonapur union Chhatra Dal.
He succumbed to his injuries on Monday evening at the hospital after admitting there around 6:20PM.
Abdur Rahman's uncle Md Hanif alleged that at an early hour on Monday, a team of joint force conducted a raid at Hawlader house. They then picked up Abdur Rahman and another nephew Habibur Rahman and also beat up them in front of the family members.
Around 8AM or 9AM, Abdur Rahman and Habibur Rahman were handed over to Sonaimuri Police Station.
The family members then went to the police station and found that the duo were injured critically. They requested the police to send them to a hospital. But police did'nt agree.
Later, upon a court order, Abdur Rahman and Habibur Rahman were sent to the General Hospital where Abdur Rahman succumbed to his injuries.
