500-kg jatka seized in Chandpur

Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) seized 500 kilograms of jatka from the Meghna river at Haimchar upazila in Chandpur district on Tuesday morning.

The Jatka was seized at around 6:00AM from Charbhairabi area in the upazila.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of the BCG conducted a drive in the river and seized the jatka from Machghat area.

The seized fishes were distributed to orphanages, madrasha and poor people.

Lieutenant Fazlur Rahman, commander of Chandpur Coast Guard Station, confirmed the matter.
