Police recovered the hanging body of a youth from his house at Nalitabari upazila in Sherpur district on Monday night.
The incident happened at West Bagichapur village under Rupnaraynjura union in the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Iasin, 26, son of Harez Ali, a resident of the area.
It was learnt that Iasin got married to Nahida Begum, a resident of West Bagichapur village in the upazila, five or six months ago. After two months of their marriage, Iasin went to Dhaka working in a brick kiln. He returned from Dhaka a few days ago and went to his father-in-law's house. On Monday, he returned to his house from his father-in-law's house and went into his room to sleep after having lunch.
In the evening of the day, family members called him but he did not reply. Later, family members broke into the room and found him hanging with a ceiling in the room.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Sherpur District Hospital morgue for an autopsy, said Sohel Rana, officer-in-charge of Nalitabari Police Station.
He might have committed suicide due to a family dispute, the OC added.
