2 dead in sawmill Blast in Jhenaidah

Two workers were killed and two others injured in a blast at a sawmill at Kotchandpur upazila in Jhenaidah district on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Milton, 28, and Ram, 40, residents of the upazila.

Kabir Matabbar, officer-in-charge of Kotchandpur police station, said that the accident happened at around 4:00PM when a main machine of the sawmill exploded due to overheating, leaving the duo dead on the spot and other two injured.

The injured are undergoing treatment at Jessore General Hospital, the OC added.
