ICSB, DU Management Department signed MoU

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) and the Department of Management, University of Dhaka (DU), at Dr. Abdullah Farouk Multipurpose Hall of Faculty of Business Studies on Tuesday.

M Nurul Alam, Senior Vice President and Acting President of ICSB and Professor Dr. Mohammad Thoufiqul Islam, Chairman, Department of Management of DU signed the MoU for strategic partnership and mutual benefits. 

The MoU allows for enhanced academic and professional achievements, sharing knowledge and latest information, research works, curriculum improvements, organizing events, training programmes and comprehensive development of both organizations under certain terms and conditions as agreed upon, said a press release.

At the outset of the programme a Career Session titled “Unlocking Your Potential with ICSB: A Journey to Professional Excellence” was held where Ali Akkas, Professor, Department of Management, DU graced the occasion as the chief guest. 
 M Nurul Alam and Professor Dr. Mohammad Thoufiqul Islam were present as the Special Guests. A. K. M. Mushfiqur Rahman, Vice President of ICSB and Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun, Treasurer of ICSB graced the occasion as the guests of honor. 

Abul Fazal Mohamed Rubayat, Chairman of Education Committee of ICSB delivered his presentation as the Keynote Speaker. 

Chief guest of the session focused on the potential of the Chartered Secretary profession in national and global context. 

He also encouraged all aspiring graduates to earn CS professional qualifications for a better career. 

 M Nurul Alam in his speech emphasized on the potential of today’s Gen-Z youth for national economic growth; while Prof. Dr. Islam highlighted on how a professional qualification can direct career path. 

A. K. M. Mushfiqur Rahman focused on the importance of Chartered Secretary profession; whereas, Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun envisioned a new Bangladesh where strong governance is anticipated in every sector, including corporate domain. 

A large number of students participated in the programme. Students spontaneously participated in the interactive quiz session; Winners of the quiz session were awarded with prizes. 

Among other dignitaries from ICSB, Oli Kamal, Council Member, Mohammed Harun-Ar-Rashid, Council Member, Mohammad Shafiqul Islam Bhuiyan, Chairman of Examination Committee, A.B.M. Kalim Ullah, Muhammad Rony Islam, Md. Ali Gowhar, Md. Shahid Uddin, Md Zakir Hossain, Secretary and CEO, Kazi Andaleeb Amin, Director (Education), and Mehedee Hasan, Additional Director (Education) were present. 

Mohammad Abdul Jabber, Associate Professor and Ms. Tahmina Khanam, Associate Professor and other Faculty Members of the Department of Management, University of Dhaka were also present at the programme.
