Four out of six reform commissions formed by the interim government will submit their reports with recommendations today (Wednesday) to the Chief Adviser, while the other two commissions will submit on January 31.
According to sources from the commissions and the Chief Adviser's office, the commissions that will submit their reports today are: the Police Reform Commission led by former Secretary Safar Raz Hossain, the Electoral Reform Commission led by SUJAN Secretary Badiul Alam Majumder, the Anti-Corruption Reform Commission led by Transparency International Bangladesh Executive Director Md. Iftekharuzzaman, and the Constitutional Reform Commission led by Professor Riaz Ahmed.
The tenures of the Public Administration Reform Commission led by Abdul Mouyeed Chowdhury and the Judiciary Reform Commission led by Justice Shah Abu Nayeem Mominir Rahman will submit their reports on January 31.
Though the Public Administration Reform Commission was supposed to submit its report on January 15, it has extended the period with the approval of the Chief Adviser.
The government recently extended the tenure of six reform commissions tasked with addressing major challenges and driving improvements across various sectors.
The tenures of five of the commissions, excluding the Judiciary Reform Commission, have been extended until January 15.
However, the Judiciary Reform Commission's tenure has been extended until January 31, added the notification.
The Constitutional Reform Commission was formed on October 6, while the other five commissions were established on October 3, with a 90-day deadline to submit their reports.
