The Election Commission (EC) will start updating the voter list by going door to door from January 20.
EC's Election Support Wing Senior Assistant Secretary Nasir Uddin Chowdhury sent a letter on Tuesday to the committee heads concerned with this instruction.
In the letter, the EC formed seven coordination committees at the field level consisting of officers from various government departments including Divisional Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police.
According to an office order, there are six committees under the leadership of the Divisional Commissioner at the divisional level, the Regional Election Officer at the regional level, the Deputy Commissioner at the district level, the Upazila Nirbahi Officer at the Upazila level, the Regional Election Officer at the City Corporation, the Cantonment Executive Officer at the Cantonment Board and the Central Committee.
A committee has been formed under the leadership of the Secretary of the Election Commission.
The committees will ensure 16 types of activities as per EC directives.
