Man hacked to death in Jhenidah

Miscreants allegedly abducted a man from his house and hacked to death in Jhenidah's Kotchandpur upazila on Tuesday night.

The incident took place early Wednesday at Chandpara village under Elangi union of the upazila.
The dead Kausar, 50, a resident of that area, was one of the accused in the murder case of Jamaat leader Anamul Master of Kotchandpur.

The dead's wife, Ojola Khatun, said that around 12:30 am, 15-20 masked men came to their house and forcibly took her husband away. Later, they took him to Chandpara Railgate area, hacked and beat him up and left him for dead.

Later, his family members rescued him and took to Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared him dead.

Kotchandpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kabir Hossain Matubbar said that an investigation is underway to find out who killed him and why.
