In the second warm-up match of the Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup 2025, the Bangladesh team led by Sumaiya Akter secured a thrilling victory in the Super Over against last tournament's runners-up England by two runs. This marked Bangladesh's first win at any level of women's cricket against England.

England won the toss and opted to bat in Kuala Lumpur and posted 113 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their 20 overs.

Prisha Tanawala top-scored with 28 runs, while Tilly Curtin added 23 and Amu Surenkumar contributed 16.

Bangladesh's Anisha Akter Soba shone with the ball claiming three wickets, while Fahmida Choya chipped in with two.

In reply, Bangladesh's chase of 114 runs saw Juaira Ferdous and Sadia Akter scoring 20 runs each, with Sadia Islam adding 16. The match came down to the final ball, with Bangladesh needing just one run to win and having a wicket in hand. However, Nishita Akter was run out on the last delivery sending the game into a Super Over.

For England, Phoebe Brett was the standout bowler taking three wickets, while Davina Perrin picked up two.

In the Super Over, England brought on left-arm spinner Tilly Curtin Coleman to bowl. Sadia Akter hit a six and added one run off the remaining balls helping Bangladesh set a target of 12 runs.

In response, England managed only nine runs off Habiba Islam Pinki's brilliant over. Singles off the first three balls built pressure and with five runs needed off the final delivery, Prisha Tanawala could only manage two runs. The 16-team ICC Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup 2025 is set to begin on January 18, with the final scheduled for February 2. Bangladesh are placed in Group 'D' alongside Australia, Scotland and Nepal.
