FENI, Jan 15: Two smugglers were arrested by BGB along with Indian goods and drugs of about Tk 1.19 crore from bordering areas of Porshuram and Chhagalnaiya upazilas in the district on Tuesday morning.
Members of 4 BGB Battalion in Feni arrested the smugglers in drives conducted on the India-Bangladesh border.
Drives were conducted in Feni's Porshurampur and Chhagslnaiya upazilas, and in Jorarganj, Majumdarhat, Debpur, Champaknagar areas in Mirsarai Upazila of Chhattogram, and Alinagar BOP's border areas.
Seized things included Indian Sari, Lehenga, Chin, marijuana, whisky, boat and pick-up.
The recovered goods were handed over to Customs Office in Feni while the marijuana and drugs were handed over to Narcotics Control Department in the district.
The arrested smugglers are Md Nazrul Islam, 27, son of Abu Ahmmed of Joynagar Village in Chhagalnaiya Upazila, and Md Rabiul Hasan, 26, son of Md Basir Ahmed of Char Fasson, Bhola.
As plaintiff, BGB filed a case with Feni Model Police Station (PS) in this connection and accused were handed over to the PS.
