PIROJPUR, Jan 15: A day-long science fair was inaugurated on Wednesday morning on the Sadar Upazila Parishad premises in the town as part of the 46th National Science and Technology Week. The event also included the 9th Science Olympiad and a quiz contest, organized by the upazila administration.
The fair featured participation from students of colleges, secondary schools, and madrasas, who showcased their innovative projects. Teachers from the participating institutions were also present to support and guide their students.
Participants were divided into two categories: Senior Group- college-level students, and Junior Group- school-level students.
Through a written examination, three students from each group were selected as first, second, and third prize winners. Additionally, three institutions were awarded for their innovative project ideas.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mamunur Rashid distributed prizes and certificates among the winners. Associate Professor from Government Suhrawardy College, Upazila Engineer Harosit Sarkar, and Upazila Agriculture Officer Sipan Chandra Ghose were also present at the event.
The fair provided a platform for young minds to exhibit their creativity and innovation, fostering a spirit of scientific inquiry among students in the region.
