Police charged baton on some of the students on Thursday while they were protesting against the attack on an indigenous group.

On Thursday noon, police barred the protest march under the banner of 'Aggrieved Student-Masses' at Doyel Chattar when they were heading towards the home ministry.

At one stage, police dispersed them by charging baton on them.
The police also used water cannons, tear gas shells and sound grenades as the students tried to remove the barricades.

The chase and counter-chase took place for sometimes there between the protesters and the police. Later, the protesters returned to Dhaka University.
