Police arrested four people from Ashulia Police Station under Savar upazila for attacking students during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement on August, 4 and 5, 2025.
Police, in several drives, arrested them from differnet areas in the Ashulia region.
The arrested men are Md Taizul Talukdar, 50, a resident of Tangabari area in the police station; Md Manik Palown, 40; Md Ashraf Ahmed, 40; and Md Mominul Haque. All are residetns of the Ashulia Police Station and leaders of Awami League and its associates organizations.
Police said that during the Anti Discrimination Student Movemnet, the leaders and activists of the Awami League and its associates organizations opened fire on the students in the Savar and Ashulia areas, leaving at least 50 people dead and hundreds injured.
Nure Alam Siqqique, officer-in-charge of Ashulia Police Station, said, " The family members of the victims filed cases against the Awami League men. Following the cases, the four were arrested based on secret information."
They have been sent to court with a remand appeal, the OC added.
