BARISAL, Dec 30: As per results of Junior School Certificate (JSC) Examination under Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Barisal (BISEB) published on Thursday; it was shown that girls have done better than boys like previous years with more percentage and number of GPA-5.
A total of 1, 10 771 out of 1, 17,520 students have become successful in JSC exams this year and the pass rate is 97. 38. The number of GPA-5 holders is 15570.
The pass rate of girls is 97.95 and a total 9910 of girl examinees obtained GPA-5 while the pass rate of boys is 96.98 with 5660 GPA-5 holders, according to the education board sources.
Md Anwar Azim, controller of BISEB said girls have done better results as they were more attentive about their educational curriculum than the boys.
Among the six districts of Barisal division, Jhalakati district has done better in percentage of pass in JSC exams this year like the previous year as 10,655 (98.17 percent) examinees with 1,757 GPA-5 passed.
In the same way, Bhola, Barisal, Patuakhali, Pirojpur and Barguna districts have come second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth consecutively in terms of pass rate in JSC exams.
