Poesy-Fiction

Struggling with soliloquy...

Published : Saturday, 31 December, 2016 at 12:00 AM  Count : 589
Translated by Ahmed Tahsin Shams
You fool!
Beside the greeny grass, the drain reminds you the river Thames beneath the Lilies. Pages after pages on basket, and puffs after puffs: all are on their ways making it high. But what is lost-few dots to form poesy! Whispered the names of all and sundry-from Shakespeare to Beckett, Dali to Kostabi, Pink Floyd to Lalon, Colonel Taher to Golam Ajom---uttered 99 times. Alas! Poetic Om is yet to be born!

You dick-head!
You stopped eating. Stopped satisfying veins, but what always remains in the veins isn't getting poured on paper.
Meanwhile, borrowed lines from here and there but could not quench the appetite. Nothing, nothing and nothing happened-but pages and puffs!

Not a single dot of ink, not a single smile! Only self-consolation "This is nothing new, writer's block made even Jibanananda meet his end. (Pin drop silence for a while).
"It's time
              to turn off
                              the fan."
