The government has launched a hotline service for the prisoners on Sunday.
Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury inaugurated the service at Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj.
The hotline number is 09612921690.
The adviser said this hotline service will be operational round-the-clock in the prison. Information on inmates in 68 prisons across the country can be obtained by calling this number.
Additionally, using this number, the prisoner's location, appearance date, meeting date, phone conversation date, information about physical condition, and information about release on parole can be obtained. Along with this, complaints or suggestions can be made, Jahangir added.
He also informed the media that the individuals, who are injured during the July-August uprising, will be given jobs in the emergency services (hotline) in prisons.
