Sadhan Chandra shown arrested in graft case

Former Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder has been shown arrested in a corruption case filed by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib passed the ordered allowing the application of ACC to show him arrested in the case and sent to jail on Wednesday (January 29).

Earlier, on Thursday (January 23), the ACC prayed to the same court to show Sadhan Chandra arrested. The court fixed January 29 for hearing on the issue in presence of the accused.

The application states that if Sadhan Chandra Majumder is released on bail in the ACC case, there is a possibility of transferring the assets he possesses and the money in his bank account to elsewhere.

Additionally, if Sadhan Chandra is released on bail, he may create obstacles in the investigation. So, it is necessary to show him arrested in this case for the sake of a fair investigation of the case.
