The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officially announced the National Players' (Men) central contract for the period from January 1 to December 31, 2025. A total of 22 players have been awarded contracts under five different salary grades, with fast bowler Taskin Ahmed securing the highest A+ category.
The salary structure for the national contracts ranges from BDT 10,00,000 per month for Grade A+ to BDT 2,00,000 per month for Grade D. Taskin Ahmed is the sole cricketer in Grade A+, earning BDT 10,00,000 monthly.
The Grade A category, with a salary of BDT 8,00,000 per month, includes Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mustafizur Rahman.
Players placed in Grade B, earning BDT 6,00,000 per month, are Litton Das, Taijul Islam, Mahmudullah, Tawhid Hridoy and Shoriful Islam.
The Grade C category, with a salary of BDT 4,00,000 per month, consists of Mominul Haque, Soumya Sarkar, Jaker Ali Anik, Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Hasan Mahmud and Rishad Hossain. Lastly, the Grade D category, with a salary of BDT 2,00,000 per month, includes Shadman Islam, Syed Khaled Ahmed, Nasum Ahmed, Nahid Rana, Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Sheikh Mahedi Hasan.
Mushfiqur Rahim, who announced his retirement from One-Day International (ODI) cricket on March 5, 2025, will be placed in Grade B starting from March. Mahmudullah has requested the BCB Cricket Operations not to consider him for the National Players' Contract beyond February 2025 and as a result, he will not be a part of the contract from March onward.
The BCB's announcement reflects a balance between experienced cricketers and emerging talents. While Taskin Ahmed has been placed in the top bracket, young players such as Tawhid Hridoy, Tanzid Hasan Tamim, and Rishad Hossain have secured contracts, signaling a focus on future prospects.
