46th BCS written 'question leaked', candidates affected

Candidates for Bangladesh Civil Service raised serious concerns regarding possible question paper leaks in 46th BCS written examination.

On Sunday, April 20, during a press conference held outside Dhaka University's (DU) Central Library, Dr Rizvi Ahmed Siam, speaking for concerned candidates, made strong claims about examination integrity.

He said, "We all believe that the question paper of 46th BCS written exam has already been leaked. The question that is being used to force us to sit for the written exam is the same one printed by BG Press."

Protesters are demanding fresh examination materials and significant administrative reform. "We demand that PSC moderate a new question paper and organize the exam afresh. For this, a new set of question papers must be printed within a reasonable timeframe," Dr Siam emphasised.

Evidence supporting these allegations appears substantial, with Dr Siam revealing, "We are in contact with several teachers who are involved in setting BCS questions. They have confirmed that no question paper has been submitted to PSC after August 5."

This timeline suggests questions were printed months ago, potentially compromising examination security.

Demands have escalated beyond mere postponement to full restructuring of the Public Service Commission. "There may still be allies of fascists in PSC. If everything remains the same in post-August 5 Bangladesh, then all the bloodshed by students and the people was in vain," declared Dr Siam, connecting examination integrity to broader national reform efforts.

Previous protests reportedly led to harsh treatment of demonstrators.

Dr Siam claimed, "Because of our protest in front of PSC on April 10, we were beaten. Ashiq, Nur and I were taken to jail and detained for four hours with drug addicts."

He noted such treatment was unprecedented, even compared to previous administrations' handling of PSC protests.
