E-passport service for Bangladeshis launched in Japan

Bangladesh Embassy in Japan on Thursday launched e-passport service for the expatriate Bangladeshi nationals residing there.
 
Principal Secretary to the Chief Adviser M Siraz Uddin Miah inaugurated the service in a programme held at the Bangladesh Embassy in Tokyo.
 
Inaugurating the service, he said travel and immigration from Japan will be easier once the e-passport service is introduced.

The government has taken different initiatives for the welfare of the expatriates. 

Getting passports on time in different countries, the government has resolved the long-standing complaints of the expatriates. Now expatriates are getting passports in a short time,” he said.
 
Bangladesh Ambassador to Japan M Daud Ali said a long-standing demand of expatriate Bangladeshis living in Japan has been fulfilled through the launching the service.

Officials of the Department of Immigration and Passports, e-passport project, representatives of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, members of Bangladesh community living in Japan were present on the occasion.
