A total of 6 thousand 433 students appeared in undergraduate admission test for the 2024–2025 academic session under the Home Economics Unit of Dhaka University (DU) on Saturday, competing for only 2 thousand 420 available seats, making the number of applicants approximately 2.66 times higher than the total capacity.
Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University, Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan, visited the examination center at the Government College of Applied Human Sciences.
He was accompanied by Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Sayema Haque Bidisha, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Professor Dr. Mamun Ahmed, Treasurer Professor Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, and Dean of the Faculty of Biological Sciences and coordinator of the unit’s admission test, Professor Dr. Md. Enamul Haque.
The principal of the host college, Professor Nargis Akhter Jahan, was also present on the occasion.
University officials have expressed satisfaction over the peaceful conduct of the test and acknowledged the high level of competition among candidates seeking admission to the prestigious unit.
