A Dhaka court has ordered to freeze 13 bank accounts holding over Tk 6.79 crore belonging to Tarique Ahmed Siddique, former military adviser to ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, his wife Shaheen Siddique and daughter Nureen Siddique.

The order was issued on Wednesday by Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib, following a petition by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Deputy Director Md Monirul Islam.

According to ACC documents, the freeze is linked to ongoing corruption cases.

On January 27, ACC filed four separate cases against Siddique and 18 others over alleged embezzlement of Tk 812 crore from four airport development projects.

The asset freeze aims to preserve evidence and prevent money laundering during the investigation.
