Both of them died while undergoing treatment at Kushtia General Hospital on Wednesday morning.

The deceased were identified as Kalu Halsana, 35, son of late Naharul Islam, a resident of Gorbagara area under Daulatpur Upazila, and farmer Kamruzzaman Pramanik, 50, hailed from Jagannathpur Union in Kumarkhali Upazila.

Kamruzzaman's nephew Solaiman said that at around 11 am, Kamruzzaman was cleaning a banana grove in a char area in Kumarkhali.

At that time, he was bitten by a Russell's viper snake. He managed to kill the snake. Later on, he was taken to Kushtia General Hospital along with the snake. Despite receiving medical attention, he passed away about 30 minutes later.
