Bangladesh Inland Container Depots Association (BICDA) has appointed Esfarul Qayyum Khan as its latest  Executive Committee Director.

Khan, Managing Director of QNS Container Services Ltd., received his membership and directorship simultaneously during BICDA's 70th Executive Committee meeting held on July 2nd, 2025.

BICDA Secretary General Mohammad Ruhul Amin Sikder announced the decision through an official letter dated July 16th, 2025.

The Executive Committee unanimously approved Khan's nomination to represent QNS Container Services within the association's governing body. His membership became effective immediately following the committee's resolution.

The appointment comes as BICDA recognizes QNS Container Services' growing influence in Bangladesh's inland container depot sector. Khan will join other industry leaders in shaping policies affecting container handling operations across the country.

His company operates from Sector 7 of the Chittagong Export Processing Zone, positioning it strategically within Bangladesh's primary trade corridor.

BICDA members expressed unanimous gratitude toward outgoing President Nurul Qayyum Khan, who led the association for fifteen years since its establishment in 2010.

The association operates under government license number 19/2010, maintaining its headquarters at Aktaruzzaman Centre in Chattogram's Agrabad Commercial Area.

BICDA coordinates activities among inland container depot operators while serving as their primary representative body in discussions with port authorities and government agencies.

Khan's appointment reflects the association's commitment to incorporating diverse industry perspectives within its executive structure. His background in container services management brings operational expertise to complement existing committee members' regulatory and policy experience.

The Executive Committee now includes representatives from various segments of Bangladesh's container handling industry, industry sources said.
