Renowned Bangladeshi rock icon Nagar Baul James has expressed deep sorrow over the recent plane crash at Milestone School and College in Dhaka, which left several students dead and injured.

Currently on a musical tour in the United States, James and his concert organizers have announced that a portion of the ticket sales from his upcoming show in Philadelphia will be donated to support the affected students.

The concert, titled “Nagar Baul James: Live in Philly”, is scheduled to take place on July 25 at The Greater Philadelphia Expo Center.

In a Facebook post, Riverine Entertainment; the organizer of the event, confirmed that a share of the proceeds from ticket sales will go towards the welfare of the victims.

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic plane crash in Dhaka that killed and injured students. We stand in solidarity with them,” the post read. “A portion of the proceeds from ‘Nagar Baul James Live in Philly’ will be donated to help the affected students.”

In addition, James’ official Facebook page issued a heartfelt statement offering condolences and prayers for those impacted. “We are deeply shocked and saddened by this devastating accident. Our thoughts and prayers are with the injured students and their families as they go through this incredibly difficult time. We also extend our sincere gratitude to the Bangladesh Army, Fire Service and rescue workers for their courageous efforts in managing the situation.”

James has been performing across various cities in the US since last month as part of his tour.

The charitable move by the artist and his team has been widely appreciated as a gesture of solidarity with the victims of one of the most tragic recent events in Bangladesh.
