
The Board of Directors of the Australia Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ABCCI), led by its President Syed Moazzam Hossain, held a productive courtesy meeting with Susan Ryle, High Commissioner of Australia to Bangladesh, at the Australian High Commission in Dhaka on Wednesday, says a press release.
The meeting focused on fostering stronger economic ties between the two nations, with both parties engaging in meaningful discussions on enhancing bilateral trade, investment, and industry collaboration.
President Syed Moazzam Hossain reiterated ABCCI's commitment to deepening business engagement between Australia and Bangladesh, highlighting initiatives such as organizing trade fairs in both countries to showcase products and services, reviewing and updating taxation policies to encourage cross-border investment, exploring opportunities to advance Bangladesh's dairy industry through Australian expertise, and facilitating engagement with emerging Australian business entities.
The dialogue reaffirmed the shared vision of ABCCI and the Australian High Commission to promote sustainable bilateral cooperation, create new trade and investment opportunities, and strengthen the partnership between Australian and Bangladeshi businesses.
The meeting was attended by Deputy High Commissioner Clinton Pobke, Trade and Investment Commissioner Ben Carson, Second Secretary (Economic) Joshua Paul Gacutan, Senior Director Minhaz Chowdhury - AgrifoodandSenior DirectorMostafizur Rahman - Educationfrom the Australian High Commission and also attended ABCCI, Vice President Deepok Kumar Baral, Secretary General Jobayer Ahmed, Organizing Secretary Jamilur Rahman, Treasurer Mohammad Taherul Hoque, and Directors Md. Al Amin, Iqbal Hossain, Shubhashis Chakma, Md. Shamsul Alam Mallick, and Nabeel Essa participated in the discussions.
