Dhaka to host Velocity 15k Run to promote youth fitness in Sept

 
In a bid to encourage sports and healthy living among Bangladesh's youth, the inaugural Velocity 15K Run will take place on 13 September at Hatirjheel Amphitheatre in Dhaka.  

The event details and official partnerships were announced at a press conference on Saturday at the Intercontinental Hotel in Dhaka. The initiative aims to engage young people in physical activities while fostering mental and physical well-being. 
 
Kazi Rajib Uddin Ahmed Chopol, founder and general secretary of the Bangladesh Archery Federation, attended as the brand ambassador. He stated, "Such events inspire positivity and health awareness among youth. Our goal is to combat social degradation."

Renowned table tennis player Zobera Rahman Linu, the women's brand ambassador, added, "Sports aren't just entertainment. 

They're vital for a healthy life. This run will motivate thousands." She particularly encouraged female participation. 
 
Other attendees included Global Farma CEO AKM Ahsanullah and Velocity co-founders Rakibul Hossain and Shatil, who expressed optimism that the event would elevate Bangladesh's sports scene.
  
Organisers revealed that over 3,000 participants have already registered, with a target of 5,000. The run will feature 15km, 7.5km, and 1km categories, with winners receiving cash prizes, crests, and medals.
