Government employees will enjoy a four-day holiday from October 1 to 4 this year, combining Durga Puja holidays with the regular weekend break.

According to the 2025 official holiday calendar, October 1 (Wednesday) has been declared a public holiday by executive order for Durga Puja, while October 2 (Thursday) is already marked as a general holiday for the festival. With the weekend falling on October 3 and 4 (Friday and Saturday), officials will have four consecutive days off.

Traditionally, government staff receive three days of holiday for Eid and one day for Durga Puja.

However, in some years additional leave has been granted by executive order.

For 2025, the Advisory Council approved a total of 11 holidays for the two Eid festivals and two days for Durga Puja. The Ministry of Public Administration finalized the holiday list on October 17 last year.
