
DINAJPUR, Dec 11: In preparation for the upcoming 13th Jatiya Sangsad election, the National Citizen Party (NCP) has announced its candidates for 125 constituencies. Among these is the Dinajpur-3 Sadar constituency.
Earlier, BNP announced that the BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia will contest from this constituency with the 'Sheaf of Paddy' symbol.
The announcement of the party's candidate for Dinajpur-3 was made at a press conference held at the NCP's temporary office at Banglamotor in Dhaka on Wednesday (10 December).
The party's Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain declared the name of the party's District Convener A H M Shamsul Muktadir for the seat. On the other hand, the candidate for Jamaat-e-Islami in this constituency is Advocate Moinul Alam.
However, prior to this, the NCP's Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari had stated that the party would not field a candidate in Khaleda Zia's constituency.
Shamsul Muktadir is an educationist. He is currently working as a UNESCO Education Researcher and Trainer for the Jagroto Nagorik Foundation and the Global Co-Prosperity Foundation.
After completing his post-graduation in International Relations from the University of Dhaka, he pursued advanced training in Non-Profit Management at Carleton University in Canada and received the UNESCO Keizo Obuchi Fellowship.
He has served as a researcher at the University of Karachi in Pakistan and as a Visiting Scholar at the University of Venice in Italy.
Previously, he held significant responsibilities at the Embassy of South Korea, the Canadian High Commission, and the Chittagong Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
