RAJSHAHI, Dec 18: Nomination paper has been collected on behalf of BNP-nominated candidate Professor Nazrul Islam Mondal for the Rajshahi-5 (Puthia-Durgapur) constituency. He is the candidate under the 'Sheaf of Paddy' symbol.
On Thursday, leaders and activists from the two municipalities of Puthia and Durgapur upazilas collected the nomination form on behalf of Professor Nazrul Islam Mondal.
After collecting the form, the activists told journalists that they would ensure Professor Nazrul Islam Mondal's victory with the highest votes in all of Bangladesh and send him to parliament.
Former upazila chairman Alhaj Anwarul Islam Jomma was present at the time. He said, "We, along with senior leaders from both upazilas, have collected the nomination papers from the Puthia Upazila Executive Officer's office. We hope that in the election scheduled for 12 February 2026, Professor Nazrul Islam Mondal will go to parliament with the highest number of votes from Puthia-Durgapur."
Many other leaders and activists from the BNP and its associate organisations in Puthia and Durgapur upazilas were also present at that time.
